Its been years and years since then,
But it all just seems like yesterday,
When holding your finger in my hand,
We would go to the park to play.
You would push me on the swing,
Quickly pick me up when i'd fall,
And wipe the mud off me and say,
"Aren't you my strong Doll?"
Giving me a goody every now and then,
Your pampering would never lag,
I would proudly walk back from school with you,
Me having an ice-cream and you holding my bag.
All the bedtime stories you made,
All the times I climbed on your back,
When it was time for you to go,
Clinging onto your leg to not let you pack.
But as the time moved on and years went by,
Your wrinkles getting darker I could see,
But our love was still the same-unshakable,
With you "The Baby Granddaughter" I could be.
I held you, supported you, gave you all I could,
The fear of loosing you grew day by day,
But anything for your smile and happiness Grandma,
Our precious moments together slowly took that fear away.
Today I look back all those years,
And miss you truly each day,
I become a child again with just your thought,
But now Granny, even I have my hair grey.
I still go to the park beside the house,
To the same swing under the tree,
But now someone holds MY finger in her hand,
Yes, Your Baby granddaughter is now a Grandmom, u see..
